Clever but naughty

This is a a bit stupid but fucking clever. I guess.

Jasper Goodall

Some new and exciting work from Jasper Goodall, but only a sneak peak. Bastards teasing us. Looks like a lot of photo manipulation.

Steve Harrington

I stumbled across this guy on a t-shirt website (www.threadless.com). He incorporates type and image together. Mainly using screen prints.

David Foldvari

This is an illustrator. I think his style is simplistic but unique. He has it down to a t and i don't think it will really change. When he uses bits of type in his illustrations, it makes the whole thing com to life and make sense.

Dan Mumford

I don't really like this guys work at all, but this piece on his website caught my eye. The type bodes so well with the illustration, i think that the composition is perfect.

Alex Trochut

This guy believes that more is more and that he practices type and illustration. He doesn't choose one over the other though, he mixes them together. This is a rolling stones cover, its fucking ace.

Körner Union

Körner Union

Stay In Bed All Day Doing Nothing

Founded in 1999, Ecole students Sami Benhadj, Tarik Hayward and Guy Meldem formed Körner Union, a mould of shared ideas and tools aiming to promote and enhance the development of their individual production as well as create collective works.

Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, Körner Union’s work includes a range of diverse work including design, drawing, photography and film and have exhibited work in Europe, United Stated, Canada and Japan. Their clients include Another Magazine, The Mill, New York Times Magazine, New York Magazine, Orange France, Siemens, Swatch, Vitra, Wallpaper and 2K T-shirts.

I also like the style of this one because it looks kind of old fashioned and Bauhaus in some respects, which gives it a retro, sort of vintage feel to it.

I like this style because it is mega simple, but looks amazing. The composition is perfect and it looks hand done even though it is digital at the end.

Mine

The colours have messed up and look pretty gnarly but you get the idea of one of the posters.

Siggi Eggertsson

This is a kind of new graphic designer, i think she's Japanese. This is type mixed with illustration as well. Not really the same principle as she has illustrated the actual type, but something i would like to try.

Parra

Same principle as mine as again the type is all the same width set type.

Geneveive Gaukler

This is mixed type with illustartion, in a different way to me, but the same principle.

Jody Barton

This peice of type kind of informed my ideas in the way that they are all set the the same width.

Si Scott

The secret of drawing. Pretty fucking unbelievable. I didn't know it was created first by hand.

Si Scott

These pieces are amazing and meticulous. I love the way that he incorporates illustration and typography together to make simple but brilliant pieces. I would love to be able to work like this and learn how to do it to inform future designs.
