This is some stuff that Design Project have done for an exhibition. Obviously the way it is printed make a a lot go the design brilliant, but the simplicity and to the point messages are what draws your attention to the design and the message. I am going to use simple and to the point messages in my posters without a lot of body copy and all that stuff, so people get impact from the type as well as the pattern.

Keller Maurer Design
I nicked this off Joe's blog which is a very good source of nice design work. This is a prime example of how simple shapes can produce nice simple patterns also, and with colour overlays and different colours the patterns can be endless without being too complicated.
Di Benedetto & Lignarolo Pattern
This is a nice pattern that these guys have put into their work. Just quite simple and not too extravagant the use of colour makes it quite subtle on the page next to all the text and cop they have in. I love the way it folds out so its an info leaflet and poster and the way the pattern gets larger as you fold it out.

Michael Kosmicki
Another poster using simple shapes to create patterns. Limited colour palette makes for big impact poster.
Hans Neuburg
Simple geometric shapes make up the futurism style to this poster. It looks fast. Its a really nice layout with the overlaying colours and the simple helvetica kind of makes it looks great. Very obviously Dutch design though. I supposes for the exhibition stuff I am doing, some of the influence will come from Dutch design.
Anton Stankowski
Another really nicely shaped piece of work, that once again creates a pattern. The use of colour really makes the pattern work and stand out from a regular pattern. Although I also think it would work beautifully in black and white, I still am undecided weather to use colour or not.
Experimental Jetset
This is a really nice poster for some Architect. It's the pattern that I want to take from the poster. Obviously i don't want to rip it off, but for the exhibition I think that triangles can make a real nice pattern and it is the triangle that I predominantly want to work with. I think it can make a real nice pattern so I will try and use shapes to make patterns as much as possible.

GF Smith - Pressision Print
This is a really cool print job, printed on some mad metallic paper and with two different spot colurs, the colour on the back is so bright its ridiculous, but its really nice. The flyer is just really nice because it is so interesting too look at and feel.
Pressision Housing Thing
This is another brochure he gave us. I really don't like the front cover, but the foiling is perfect. The inside however is really nice. Its simple and the pictures are laid out in a very systematic way. It was printed on a really rough, uncoated and recycles stock but non of the colour is really lost. Nice.
Pressision Booklet
Another little booklet he gave us. It's like a samples thing. Once again, really nice print job with the foiling etc. The design work is cool too. The format is strange but interesting and the design is simple but shows off the print jobs well.
Pressision Print Lab
Me and Anand went to Pressision Print Lab A couple of weeks ago. The whole place was really cool, very small but a nice tight organization. The guy who runs the print jobs (studio manager) Jonathan showed us around. The place was really impressive. He showed us where they makes plates, the Hp Indigo Digital Printer, the Litho Press, Foiler (which was ancient, but this made it cooler) and all the finishing stuff.
This is just a little booklet he gave us to show off the company. It is really nice, the colours of the photos look mad because in the Magenta part of the Litho, they poured in the bright pink spot colour from the front, this is what gave it a mad tint. Very nice and clean design work as well.

Weis Heiten
This is another really vibrant and powerful piece. Using really cool pattern to catch the eye of the viewer. I think it works and there is a massive contrast in colour which makes it even more eye catching. This is really cool and the work from this studio is pretty amazing and constantly good.
Weis Heiten
This is another piece of work that is really cool. The over laid colour and type on top of the images is a kind of dynamic quality. This project I want to try something a little more daring with type and image, instead of a standard format. This pushes some boundaries but works well with each other, the type does'nt dominate the image to fully.
Weiss Heiten
This is a new piece of work for a German design company. They have a really contemporary and clean style. Something that I love. I think that the colours and shapes really work for this work. I think that the pattern idea is something I will use for the exhibition stuff, I want to set the theme as pattern, so maybe colour is something that I will look into this project.

Tillweideck (Hellome)
These are all created by the same guy and it is a cd that included everything in with it at once. All the posters, stickers, inserts, badges and packages are all done with the same uniform. I really like the limited use of colour in this because the really deep black compliments the white and grey images. This works on two levels as they can be reversed and the impact is still just as strong.
Tillweideck
Once again these posters have a strong emphasis on type but the images play a large role because of the way they are laid out. They look random but beautiful. They work in harmony with the type as not to over shadow it and the subtle hint of colour in the type compliments the gray scale images.
Fillipo Nostri
These posters are typographically laid out in an odd way. Even though they look a little odd and random there will be a real strong grid in there. The pictures also look a little slap dash but work really well on the page, that is also the grid working. The overlap of the pictures and text is really eye catching. This is a type of style I want to use to create something a little different for the Master of Suspense print series and zine.
Design Project
Some really nicely layed out work for a paper merchant in the UK. The design project use really simple layout and colours that create something really exiting and interactive. The first book itself is A3 so it is really nice to pick up and interact with. Team impression printed it, of course.
