American Apparel Look Book

This is something that I picked up in the states. It's a pretty cool little format. The stock is shite, it looks like it has been printed for a pizza takeaway but the layout is pretty cool. Nice structure and grid to the type and the photographs are laid out differently so it doesn't get boring to flick through.

Gestuz Look Book

A similar comparison between my process book and this look book I picked up. Same size and stick choice.

The stock is about 200 gsm on the cover and 140gsm on the inside pages. It's all uncoated too. I am going to order mine on rcycled, 200gsm cover and 130gsm insides perfect bound, like this look book. It's also a real nice simple layout, the pictures have a lot to do with it.

Process Final Mock-Up

This is the final mock up for the context book. I am really pleased with it. It is quite thick but it will now be perfect bound so it will go a little thinner than this. I have gone through it with Joe and he has pointed out a fair few things about type hierarchys and stuff so they need addressing. I also feel as though I want to incorporate a little colour somewhere, maybe some monotone photographs. I am pleased with the content now so all it is is final tweaks before the printers.

Museum Studio - RVW Furniture

Catalog and Press Package – Cardboard file holding 11 product cards.

Logo embossing on product card.

Business cards with silver foil logo.

Binder for sales material.

Stationary in shades of grey. Envelope with stamped adress and embossed logo.

Some new branding from these guys in Sweden. This stuff is really nice, attention to detail is key and they use different finishes all the time. Really nice stuff. I have included them in my context book, but this has just come out so it missed out. Branding is something I would like (and need) to get into before I leave so that maybe it would be easier in the future to get on with.

Process Journel

Only just found this on Aisleone. It is from a website called Process Journal in Australia. It's a really cool book that is actually a lot like my design context. The layouts are varied but really cool and it seems to have a lot of interviews and studio visits as well as a catalogue of processes. The cover is lovely and has a faint but brilliant embossed pattern.

Hekuzukuku Book Promo

These are the promo posters done for the book below. It uses the pages from books montaged together to make some killer posters that show off the aesthetics of the book. The simple vertical type adds a nice touch and breaks it up a bit from the vibrant posters.

Hekuzukuku Book

A nice use of monotone image in books. It is more of a zine than a book but monotone and greyscale images are quite 'in' at the moment. I really like photography books like this, it's simple. cheap and effective.
